that would be spirit, my dorky little 2002 quarter pony gelding. he was ranch-raised (y'know, sent off on the range with all his colt buddies till he was about 18 months), and he wasn't gelded till he was almost 2, so he's a little wacky. he's way too smart for his own good (like knows how to untie knots -_-) and has a boundless energy. he also loves his people very much and CRAVES attention. he's always trying to please so that he gets scritches. :B or, now that he's learned that i don't want his happy loving bites, he does it anyway because he knows i'll hit him. xD
in the picture i he and i were freeschooling. he always takes that straightaway up the hill in his paddock at a full gallop (often with a few snorting, farting bucks thrown in xD).

he actually...isn't trained yet. >.< it's embarrassing, but i'm trying to do the parelli thing, plus a full time job, plus school and homework and mud and chronic exhaustion and the fact that i don't really know what i'm doing...we haven't gotten very far. i've ridden him bareback twice, and he was ridden nearly every day two summers ago, but that's about it for his under saddle work. he'll need a lot of refreshers before i can get on him.
i've always ridden hunters, but i'm rather beyond showing, so i'll probably end up doing lots of trails and maybe some hunter paces. maybe some local open shows just to see how he does. and i'm hoping that once i move out and take him with me to a nice big actual barn that we can learn how to drive together. i'm sure he'd LOVE to do combined driving and would be super cute in harness. xD his registered name is lena's cowboy cutter so we know he's got those great cutting lines in him, but unfortunately i'm not so into working cattle. maybe some day i'll take him team penning and see if he's got any cow sense.
