i have several characters that float around my head, and come to the forefront when i'm feeling a certain way. they're really special to me, and i like to have pictures of them, so i'm going to post some info in case anyone is in need of inspiration.

SOPHRONOS

description enormous is the word that best describes sophro. he embodies every sense of the word – in his massive hooves, his thick neck, his broad shoulders. and especially in his height, nearly twenty hands. his coat, jet, liquid black, is tarnished only by three white darts: one under each eye, and one across his withers. his mane is thick, wavy, and as long as it can grow; his tail and feathers the same. his forelock covers the eye and cheek of whatever side of his head it happens to fall on.
personality sarcastic and disdainful, sophro acts as he looks. he's foreboding, he knows it, and he does nothing to remove the fear he instills in most. he rarely uses his physical strength to win a battle, however, preferring to play mind tricks on his opponent. and when his mind is set on an opinion, there's no swaying him from it. he's got a short and violent temper, which he takes out on anyone near enough for him to reach. he's also very vain; his appearance is important, regardless of the situation. sophro's determination and motivation to excel at living is as large as his physical being; but it is marred by his sociopathic nature. there will always be things you will never know about him.

MAU

description mau is thin, delicate, and narrow, with a slightly convex face and long legs for her body. her coat is a rich red chestnut, accented by four white stockings, a wide blaze, and a spray of rabicano white across her barrel. her mane and tail are bright yellow flaxen, and her remaining eye is deep mahogany. her left eye is missing, replaced by three vertical scars. she also sports scars on each shoulder, in groups of four running nearly parallel to her back.
personality as a filly she was bubbly and fun, optimistic and eager to please—a general ray of sunshine. but at age two she was attacked by a puma; her beloved brother was killed. she retreated into herself and grew bitter with the world's hatefulness and hurtfulness. she grew determined to do something about it. she has a strong sense of right and wrong and is a very powerful leader and fighter, but isn't ever very happy. always a little bitter about something.

FINNEGAN

description finn has a muscular, lean build—very masculine—with a deep chest and short cannons. his coat is red roan tobiano, his face a dark sorrel as the roan concentrates itself. his fetlocks, untended, grow over his hooves like a draft's feathers; he also sports a small beard under his chin. a thick two-toned mane hangs mid-neck, its counterpart sprouting from his hind end in varying lengths.
personality finnegan is the perfect gentleman. he is polite, courteous, and respectful at all times and to everyone, no matter the situation. he's generous and helpful to those in need. however, he truly likes very few. being something of a loner, you'd have to work quite hard to get on his good side. he's been hurt in the past, and is quite reluctant to give his heart away to just anyone. sometimes it's a matter of taste; whether you stand up to his good judgment is very important. sometimes, it's a matter of pride; if he feels you are inferior, the closest you'll get is his stoic brick wall of courtesy.

IOCASTA

description it was once said that iocasta looks as though she was made by angry faeries. it's an accurate description: her build is delicate and dainty, but somewhat disproportioned. her mane and tail are short and scraggly, her fetlocks long and unfeminine, her chin hairy. her eyes are a deep, intense black. her coat, a light grulla colour, is marked by primitive leg barring and a dark dorsal stripe.
personality to describe her in one word would be impossible, for she is like a jewel: complex and faceted. her shy, timid side is the one turned most often outwards, as it is her most comfortable. she rarely speaks, especially to strangers, and is terrified of lectures and asking for directions. but a small part of her enjoys being in others' company, as the blanket of security cushions her from much of the outside world's harshness. there is the facet that promotes opinion as well. and that is unwavering and true always, willing to come out only when it is deemed necessary. by hearing information on a subject, iocasta can form a picture in her mind of the correct path, the right way to go about solving a problem or about thinking. when she feels it needs to be shared with the world, not a thing can make it changed. though it's rarely challenged, because of the innate sensibility in her thoughts. it's difficult to know much about casta, for she never has exposed the being under her outer layer to anyone, but it is known that there is much inside her that is hidden.

TSURA / EMILIAN

appearance a light rose grey with the classic andalusian build, tsura looks rather out of place without a human hand to guide her. she carries a look of blankness on her feminine face, but occasionally her mysterious grey eyes sparkle through her wavy forelock. emilian's eyes, of course, are deep black.
personality tsura and emilian share the same body, but are very different personalities indeed. tsura is often off in the clouds, contemplating butterflies or waves or the way grass moves with the wind. the birds and the dragonflies and the flowers talk to her, and she talks back, often carrying long and complex conversations. little upsets her, but that's mostly because she doesn't often listen when others are talking to her, so engrossed is she in the thoughts of inanimate objects. when she does lose her temper, however, very bad things can happen. emilian—ruthless, sociopathic, and terrifying—takes over. her maniacal, foamy laughter dominates and her hooves fly onto flesh and over miles. needless to say, tsura is shunned from most of gentile society.
